So here I am again! I´m not totally recovered, arm hurts from time to time, but at least I could get back to work and even paint some personal stuff.

I´m in the process of updating my portfolio now. I feel I have learned a few things this last months and I want to paint some stuff that shows it.

Animation, compositing, illustration, painting, 3d so many things I´m interested in. But I think it´s about time that I focus a bit. Visual Development is drawing most of my attention lately.

In the meantime, some work in progress. I really gotta get used to investing several days in a piece, I usually only spend like a day in a painting.


First of all, a painting I started with Peter. He came over to my place, were supposed to go out party, but ended up painting all night. We´d take 10/15/20 min shots at it and speedpaint.

I was thinking I´d work a bit more on the pic before posting, but its too late now. Hope to finish it this week or so.

A speedie gone too far. Not finished yet, palm trees and some parts to be refined. A bit proud of this one, no reference or textures used.

Hiatus

Its been a long time since last post as usual. I´ve been having to keep away from drawing. There´s something wrong with my arm and for a few weeks already, I can´t draw/type for more than a few hours without pain. I even had to take sick leave. Dr. says it´ll go away with medication and physiotherapy. Crossing fingers, because now, it really sucks.

Afternoon doodle. Started laying out some abstract shapes see if they suggested me something.

The file ended up being huge. Over 7000 pixels high. It felt really nice being able to paint in some details without any pixelation. I kept going back and forth between PS and Artrage.

Life Drawing

So I finally started going to a life drawing course. And boy is it a humbling experience. Ive been going for two days with Mr. Peter and Mr. Borja. The model does 2 min poses for an hour which is what I really need.

I read a chapter of the Stanchfield notes the second day. I focused on pushing the pose and on straight versus curvess. Sometimes the pose was not so interesting and I drew the people instead.

I went out sketching and took some pictures as reference for painting the drawings back in PS. I really didnt think much about composition while drawing. I keep doing that and it always hurts the final thing.

Ill get to do some life dawing soon and I hope that gets juices flowing and I start posting more often.

Some concept art

Here´s some work stuff. Early conceptwork for an ad. It took me little time to do these, but I´m actually quite happy about them. The ad ended up looking nothing like this, so this remains a graphic style I´d like to see in movement someday.

I always avoided to include photography in any realistic piece I painted, but the client wanted to see what more detailed enviroments might look like. I painted this in one night, after having spent allready too many hours awake.I used photos and everything at hand to get the job done quickly. There´s lots of thing wrong with this one, but I´m happy I tried and learn some new things along the way.

Some sketches! I finally manage to find some energy to post something. I started on a new job and it has been draining most of it lately. Im learning a lot here. Ive never been surrounded by so much talent, ever. Its great.
